So I’ve made some decisions and I’m making some progress! on the tarot course and I thought I’d do a quick update for all those who have been patiently waiting. The course will be a bit more ambitious than what I originally envisioned!
I’ll be offering it on Google Classroom, which has the advantage of being a universal platform anyone can log onto - apparently it’s even available as an app for mobile devices. I’ll be able to enroll people by sending them an invitation link. It will be organized into several modules, with worksheets, discussion threads, and final assignments for each module.
It will cover foundational practices like Card of the Day drawing, how to develop your own meanings, how to formulate effective questions, how to design spreads, rituals, ethos, and a little magic. The emphasis will be on connecting tarot with your actual lived experience - taking interpretations out of the realm of theory and into everyday life.
The slowest part of developing this, for me, has been my effort to provide materials in both fully digital and partly analog form. I’d like it to be accessible 24/7 for those who live their lives mostly online. On the other hand, tarot is a tactile art, and I want those who are more comfortable with pen and paper to be able to use the course too.
At the moment I’m thinking of it as an ungraded and at-your-own-pace course. This, however, may not provide enough motivation for those of us who depend on carrots, sticks, and clocks to reach their goals.
At any rate, I’m plugging away at it in between podcast, Etsy, and other commitments. My hope is that once it’s close to ready, I’ll offer it in beta at a discounted price, for a limited period, in return for feedback.
In the meantime, I’d love to hear any thoughts, requests, questions you may have. Feel free to leave a comment below, or send me a message.
